Think about airflow and people movement. Place the diffuser where air naturally circulates - near an open doorway, in line with HVAC vents, or in a hallway between rooms - and slightly away from where people sit or sleep, since fragrance is strongest closest to the unit. Keep it upright at all times. Laying the diffuser on its side or at an angle can cause oil to enter the compressor and damage the unit.

Ultrasonic diffusers vibrate water and a tiny amount of oil into a wet mist - fine for a small bedside table, but they dilute the fragrance and leave residue on nearby surfaces. Heat-based diffusers (reed warmers, electric burners) destroy the volatile top notes of a fragrance, so what reaches your nose is only the heavy base notes. Cold-air nebulizing is the only method used by luxury hotels and high-end retailers because it preserves the full fragrance profile and scales to whole-room or whole-house coverage. Nēbu oils are luxury fragrance oils - complex blends formulated by perfumers to deliver consistent, multi-note compositions. True essential oils (single-botanical distillates) can vary widely batch-to-batch, have shorter projection, and are too thick for nebulizing compressors. It depends on the diffuser and your settings. At medium intensity with daily use, the NL50 uses about 10 ml a month, so a 10 ml fill runs 30 to 45 days. The NL100, NL200, NL250 and NL300 use about 70 ml a month, so a 100 ml bottle lasts about six weeks and a 250 ml bottle about three and a half months. The Whole House HVAC unit uses about 180 to 215 ml a month, so a 250 ml bottle lasts five to six weeks. Lower intensity or shorter schedules stretch every bottle.

Yes. Nēbu diffusers will run other fragrance and essential oils. Keep in mind that a cold-air nebulizer atomizes oil with no water, so oils that are thick or resinous, or cut with carrier oil, water or alcohol, can clog the atomizer and wear it out sooner. Nēbu oils are blended to the viscosity our diffusers are built for, so they run clean and smell consistent. Using another oil does not void your warranty, but damage caused by an unsuitable oil, such as a clog, is not covered.

Yes. The cold-air nebulizing process atomizes oil to safe atmospheric concentrations when distributed through the air system. Because there's no propellant, no heat-degraded compound, and no aerosol residue, the diffused fragrance is safe for homes with pets and children. As with any home fragrance, ensure adequate ventilation; consult your veterinarian if you have animals with known respiratory sensitivities.

When switching between fragrances, run a small amount of 91% isopropyl alcohol through the unit for 5-10 minutes to clear the previous oil from the nebulizing chamber. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Never submerge the diffuser in water and never use household cleaners - they can damage the seals and the internal compressor.
